(Web Desk) – Protests broke out in different parts of the country following US President Donald Trump’s tweet in which he threatened to cut aid over what he termed was “nothing but lies and deceit” on part of Pakistan in the ongoing war against terrorism.

In a tweet that has sparked widespread anger in Pakistan, the President of the United States Donald Trump alleged that Pakistan had provided safe haven to terrorists, adding: “No more!”

The US president regretted US approving aid packages to Pakistan in his tweet that went on to claim that all Pakistan did for the last 15 years was to fool its leaders.

Shortly after Trump’s tweet that came on the first day of the new year, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif responded on Twitter that soon, they will let the world know the truth and the "difference between facts & fiction."
